Writer and actor Mark Gatiss has suggested that Doctor Who doesn’t need to explain the Fifteenth Doctor’s apparent regeneration into Billie Piper at the end of The Reality War, arguing the show could simply move on rather than resolve the cliffhanger. He compared the situation to Dallas’s famously unaddressed dream-season twist.
