Personality
An Australian air stewardess who stumbles into the TARDIS by accident, Tegan is feisty, outspoken, quick-tempered and often openly frustrated with the dangers of time travel.
Interesting Facts
- Tegan is one of the few companions to leave and later be brought back into the story.
- Her final exit is unusually abrupt — she simply walks out mid-story, horrified by violence she’s witnessed.
- Janet Fielding reprised Tegan on screen nearly 40 years later in “Power of the Doctor” (2022).
What Happened to the Character
In Resurrection of the Daleks (1984), Tegan abruptly decides she’s had enough of the violence and walks away from the Doctor on a London street.
