Doctor Who TV – 31 October – 1 November 2026
Peter Capaldi says he has been repeatedly asked to join companies bidding to develop the next era of Doctor Who, but has declined because he knows how consuming the show is to make and has other projects to pursue (31 October). In a separate interview he said he thinks people at the BBC don’t fully grasp what Doctor Who is, calling it “kind of a problem” while crediting Russell T Davies and Steven Moffat’s lifelong love of the show for its success (31 October). Speaking on the Half the Picture podcast, he also set out a wishlist for the show’s future, arguing the TARDIS should keep its “60s essence”, the Doctor should have no more than two companions, and monsters matter to young viewers (1 November).
