Withdrawn from the world and grieving the loss of Amy and Rory, a colder, more isolated Doctor is coaxed back into action in Victorian London by a sharp-tongued barmaid named Clara, and by eerie snowmen quietly forming out of a malevolent, sentient snow linked to the mysterious Dr Simeon and the Great Intelligence. Alongside the crime-fighting trio of Vastra, Jenny, and Strax, the Doctor confronts the Intelligence’s plan to conquer using human emotion turned to ice, while a devastating twist leaves Clara’s fate in question.
