Personality
A shape-shifting android capable of taking on any appearance, Kamelion is well-meaning but tragically weak-willed, easily dominated by whoever is controlling him.
Interesting Facts
- Kamelion is the only fully robotic, shape-changing companion besides K9, but far less successful due to a notoriously unreliable prop.
- He was largely written out for an entire year between his introduction and his final story due to technical problems.
- His death is a mercy killing at his own request, freeing him from the Master’s control.
What Happened to the Character
In Planet of Fire (1984), Kamelion falls back under the Master’s control and begs the Doctor to destroy him, which the Doctor reluctantly does.

Gerald Flood had a long prior career in British television and theatre; he died on 12 April 1989, aged 61.
