When Dorota “Dot” Kowalczyk, the last night archivist of a dying local newspaper in Hull, finds a battered blue police box wedged between the sports archive and the dehumidifier, she gets pulled into an investigation the Doctor can barely believe he’s having to run: something has spent ten years quietly turning up the volume on humanity’s worst instincts, using the loudest, emptiest man on the planet as its speaker.
