Interesting Facts

  • This serial closes out Season 9 and marks Roger Delgado’s penultimate appearance as the Master in the television series before his death the following year.

  • The story introduces the concept of a TARDIS materialising inside another TARDIS, a device later reused in subsequent Doctor Who stories.
  • Its philosophical dialogue between the Doctor and Kronos about the nature of time drew both praise for ambition and criticism for pacing from contemporary reviewers.
