Summary
Spotting a monstrous creature lurking in a painting by Vincent van Gogh, the Doctor and Amy travel to 1890 Provence to investigate, finding the troubled painter isolated, misunderstood, and tormented by an invisible alien only he can see. As they help him battle the creature, the Doctor and Amy also witness firsthand the depth of van Gogh’s mental illness, and try, however briefly, to show him how his work will one day be cherished by the world.
