Summary
Flung into the Crimean War of 1855 by the chaotic effects of the Flux, the Doctor discovers the warlike Sontarans have hijacked the historical battlefield for their own invasion plans, forcing her to team up with real-life nurse Mary Seacole and British and Russian soldiers alike to repel the alien incursion, all while Yasmin and Dan are swept up in their own separate strands of the unfolding, universe-threatening Flux crisis elsewhere in time.
